Dr Rohit K Dasgupta

I am Senior Lecturer and Programme Director in Global Communication and Development at the Institute for Media and Creative Industries, Loughborough University.
As an ethnographer my work cuts across several disciplines with particular interests in communication and social change, cultural industries, protest culture, queer politics and South Asia.I am currently working on several projects on queer migration, media and nation in India, COVID assemblages and India's cultural industries.

 

I am also currently a Labour and Cooperative Party Councillor (2018-2022) in the London Borough of Newham where I am Commissioner for Social Integration and Equalities. I was the Labour Party parliamentary candidate for East Hampshire in 2017 and also a Labour Party MEP Candidate for South East England in 2019.
