ABOUT ME
I am Senior Lecturer in Cultural Industries at the University of Glasgow. Prior to this I was Senior Lecturer in Global Communication and Development at Loughborough University where I am currently Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Media and Creative Industries.
As an ethnographer my work cuts across several disciplines with particular interests in communication and social change, cultural industries, protest culture, queer politics and South Asia. I have also held academic roles at the University of Southampton, University of the Arts London, University of Sussex, University of West London and University of Westminster.
I have received external grants from the AHRC, British Academy, Royal Society for Asian Affairs, EPSRC and the Wellcome Trust. I have published in the areas of queer cultures, Indian cinema, creative labour, South Asian visual cultures and cultural politics.
